Finance Department Issues Support for Nick
February 6th, 2009The Finance department has thrown the full weight of its support behind Nick! Here is a transcript of their letter:
Fellow Barbarians!
WE, in the TBG finance office would like to announce our official endorsement for TBG Mayor. After much consideration and deep, deep collective thoughts, we are proud to say we support Nick Bonadies for Mayor.
Nick demonstrates a willingness to listen to what thoughts and opinions of all barbarians have or don’t have. He has put out a lot fire over the years that we can never prove if he started in the first place. We firmly believe Nick truly cares about our community and take pride and pleasure in his work even at the expense of his personal life and made great sacrifice (his girlfriend) to run for this election!
As Barbarians, we have found Nick to be accessible, (24/7 on call) helpful (home visit setting up pirated cable box) and effective.(even when there’s no budget) His support on a variety of company issues has been strong. We feel we can count on him to lead us in the right direction or the left direction.
Nick does face a difficult task: to preserve the admirable essence of our company amidst the pressures and wonderful opportunities of growth and change, but we know as Mayor he will lead us into a better tomorrow! And, he will change our past too, if he could!
Please join the finance office on election day and vote Nick Bonadies for Mayor!
Thank you!

Letter I received this morning…
February 6th, 2009As a Barbarian, and as a feminist, and as a woman, I am appalled by Candidate Califano’s campaign strategy. Much like the outcry surrounding Sarah Palin, I would be personally ashamed to have a woman in office who got there by questionable means. Califano and Palin at first glance could not seem to be more different, but the roots of both of their campaigns grow from the same soil of deceit. They both objectify themselves by letting their stereotypical gender roles supersede their ideas on the campaign trail. While it may appear to be all fun and games, Califano’s campaign is a huge step backwards for not just women, but Barbarians everywhere who value equality in the office. I have no idea what she truly stands for in her campaign other than an unhealthy standard of obsession with fitness, and American Apparel gear.
–Concerned Barbarian Citizen
Thank you for your support Concerned Citizen. I have to agree with you on every point you make. It’s plainly obvious that Candidate Califano is grasping at straws with her current campaign strategy, and that it isn’t winning her any votes. Though I do respect her dedication to fitness and I think her fitness goals are important for us all. The difference between us is that I see the bigger picture, whereas Ms. Califano has targeted one issue.
I hope she is prepared for the road ahead, and I am excited for the challenge.
Campaign Poster
February 5th, 2009
We got the poster put up in the other offices! If you’d like a copy of the poster you can purchase a full size here. Otherwise if you would like to print yourself a copy, a large version can be found here.
Note: we don’t profit off sales of the poster. Cafepress sure does though! and Mike Rubenstein, the artist.
Hang Tight Folks!
